How do I register for the Craft Beer Marketing Awards (CBMAS)?

Entries for the inaugural CBMAS opened October 2019. The competition is open to anyone in the USA who’s involved in brewing, marketing, design, or branding to enter their top beer–related work: https://craftbeermarketingawards.com/register

What is the acceptable time period for completed work?

Entries must be beer–related marketing, design, or branding, and have been undertaken between January 2018 through October 2019.

When is the entry deadline?

The call for entries commenced in October, with an early bird deadline of November 29, 2019, followed by a standard entry period until January 31, 2020.

How much does it cost to enter?

Early bird submissions cost $115 per entry. Entries submitted after November 29, 2019 until January 31, 2020 will be charged $145. All entries are to be paid upon submission.

Are there discounts for multiple entries?

If your organization is submitting or more 10 entries, additional discounts may be available. Please contact: Jackie@craftbeermarketingawards.com for further details.

How many categories are there?

The 2020 CBMAS have 33 beer–marketing related categories. You may enter work into multiple categories, if appropriate, and you may be eligible to win multiple awards.

What is a Crushie award?

The Crushie award is sculptured to depict a heavily–tattooed arm crushing a beer can to symbolically represent how breweries are “CRUSHING IT!” with their unique and creative beer marketing and branding. Crushie trophies of the CBMAS were designed and manufactured by the designer awards firm that creates the prestigious Emmy Award and MTV’s Moonman statue.

What levels of Crushie awards are there?

The Platinum Crushie is the CBMAS’ most prestigious nomination. Only one (1) in the highest-achieved ranking from each category will receive Platinum. The Gold Crushie will be awarded to a maximum of five (5) winners per category. People’s Crushie (Black Nickel) is the most elusive of all the Crushies because the CBMAS only award this trophy to a total of five (5) winners.

How do I purchase a Crushie award?

Individuals involved in the production and creation of winning work can purchase their personalized trophies in the CBMAS Awards Shop that will launch right after the winners are announced on April 20. Winners will be notified by email of their win with further instructions.

When will winners be announced?

Winners will be announced live from the CBMAS Awards Ceremony in San Antonio, TX on April 20. Winners will be notified by email of their win with further instructions. Winners don’t need to be in attendance to receive their trophies.

Is there an awards ceremony?

Yes, the CBMAS will have a Red Carpet Experience – at Booth #3112 – during the Craft Brewers Conference (CBC) in San Antonio, TX from April 19–22, 2020. CBMAS will also throw a live awards ceremony – to be presented by Hillebrand – that will take place on Monday, April 20 in San Antonio (with location to be announced in December).

Who are the Judges?

The CBMAS are judged by a panel of esteemed beer, marketing, and design industry leaders, along with experts from the creative worlds of brewing, branding, and beyond. We are delighted to unveil a portfolio of renowned creatives and decision–makers from across the globe.

How do the Judges rank entries?

Judges use an electronic scorecard to rank each entry using a rigid set of judging criteria. Crushie award winners are based on highest–point scores in each category. Entries to the People’s Choice category will be ranked into top positions by our judges first, and then be voted on by fans who will use social media polling to determine the winners.

Can Judges enter their own work?

Yes! Judges will not be reviewing their own work, so they can enter whatever they want.

Can my company become a sponsor?
